Stephen Tolhurst, MD, an orthopaedic spine surgeon, joined the Texas Back Institute team in 2012 from the Cleveland Clinic where he completed his fellowship in spine surgery. Dr. Tolhurst was part of a unique fellowship program which combined orthopaedic and neurosurgical spine surgery training as well as special training in spinal trauma. Dr. Ian Wilkofsky joined Orthopedic Associates in 2015. He takes great interest in the orthopedic care of the shoulder. Dr. Wilkofsky’s specialized training consisted mostly of upper extremity problems, however throughout his Orthopedic Surgery residency he was involved in the care of traumatic injuries across all fields of orthopedics. I especially enjoy taking care of patients with diseases of the bile duct and pancreas. In addition to completing my general training for gastroenterology, I completed an additional year of training specialized in advanced therapeutic endoscopy, which included endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopractreatigram (ERCP). Both of these procedures allow for diagnosis and treatment of complicated conditions such as pancreatic cancer, biliary strictures and bile duct stones.
